Practice Groups

Bankruptcy, Finance, Restructuring and Creditors' Rights

Becker is widely recognized for the excellence of its bankruptcy, finance restructuring and creditors’ rights practice, which was and remains the foundation of the firm's new brand based practice.

Business Services Group

Becker has redefined the client-attorney relationship through its Business Services Group. The Group takes a project management approach to providing bundled legal services to small and medium-sized businesses that know they need legal support, but lack the revenue and volume of legal issues to justify hiring their own in-house general counsel.

Becker considers corporate law a core practice area within the firm, recruiting talented corporate attorneys from some of the largest and well-known international, national and regional law firms to deliver advice to our clients in what has become one of the firm's fastest growing practice areas.

Employment and Labor

The attorneys in our Employment Law Group have significant experience across a wide variety of industries, including: construction; staffing and recruiting; banking and other financial services; pharmaceutical and healthcare services.

Becker has a sophisticated and experienced healthcare litigation practice and the firm represents a variety of commercial insurance companies in coverage related litigation for several product lines.

Our Business Services model is custom built to deliver an integrated project management approach to providing bundled legal services to our clients. These unique capabilities translate well for our foreign clients by providing cross-border legal and commercial solutions for such clients and their U.S. subsidiaries and related entities.

Becker maintains an active civil litigation practice that encompasses the representation of a broad spectrum of clients in matters before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and in various alternative dispute resolution forums, such as arbitration and mediation.

Mergers and Acquisitions

Our attorneys advise buyers, sellers, investors, shareholder groups, boards of directors and other interested parties in all aspects of complex business combinations and other forms of acquisition, combination, divestiture and sale (including tax-free reorganization). We focus on the big picture by understanding and balancing our client’s culture, needs and vision. With this focus, we collaborate with our clients to create and maximize value during each phase of the transaction.

Real Estate

Becker has an experienced, sophisticated real estate practice. The firm provides advice to developers, landlords, tenants, investors, and property owners on every aspect of real estate financing, real estate acquisition and leasing.

As one of the largest Staffing practices in the nation, Becker’s clients span the spectrum of the industry in terms of size and market sector. Becker’s team, experience and focus provide a unique set of benefits, the Becker Benefit, which assists our clients in making the right strategic and operational decisions.

Becker represents clients in all aspects of federal and state taxation, including providing advice to help minimize taxes in connection with domestic and international corporate transactions and investments, business formations and choice of entity decisions, executive compensation, business succession, and sales taxes.
