Mr. Zelkowitz focuses his practice on commercial real estate and renewable energy matters. Over the course of his legal career, he has represented a wide variety of clients, including developers, investors, lenders, landlords, and tenants on real estate acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing, and development matters. He has acted as counsel for wind and solar energy project developers and purchasers, drafting and negotiating PPAs as well as leases and easements. Mr. Zelkowitz has extensive experience conducting real estate due diligence for a range of different types of transactions. He also has experience structuring and negotiating real estate development projects, including drafting and negotiating development management agreements, construction contracts, and consultant agreements.
Prior to joining Becker LLC, Mr. Zelkowitz spent 8 years as a development director at an award-winning boutique hotel developer and operator, where he oversaw all aspects of complex hotel development projects in major metropolitan areas, from initial conception through design, permitting, construction, and close-out.
