Shefali M. Kotta, Esq.
Shefali M. Kotta is an associate with the firm’s Corporate Department and Business Services Group where she focuses on taxation, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, bankruptcy, finance, and restructuring. She is admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
In 2013, Shefali graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a minor concentration in Environmental Policies, Institutions and Behavior from Rutgers University, New Brunswick Campus. In 2018, she received her J.D. from Rutgers Law School, Newark Campus. During law school, Shefali was the President of the Tax Law Society and an active member of the Rutgers Federal Tax Law Clinic where she offered legal services to low-income taxpayers who were involved in disputes with the IRS. Additionally, Shefali was a Senior Editor for the Rutgers Computer & Technology Law Journal.
From August 2018 to August 2019, Shefali was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Jamie D. Happas, P.J.Cv., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County, where she was responsible for managing a variety of motions, drafting and editing decisions, and researching complex civil law issues. Shefali also served as a court certified mediator, mediating small claims and landlord-tenant disputes in the Special Civil Part.
Shefali is a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association and the New Jersey Bar Association.
