Kristen J. Coleman is an associate in Becker LLC’s Litigation Department where she focuses on healthcare and insurance coverage litigation. Ms. Coleman has been involved in complex litigation matters including the representation of insurance companies, self-insured benefit plans and third-party administrators in various matters, with many governed by ERISA. She also has extensive experience representing healthcare staffing companies in medical malpractice actions where she has defended parent or holding companies against claims for the alleged actions of subsidiaries and/or their employees. She specializes in all aspects of the litigation process, including pre-trial discovery, motions practice, trial and appellate review. In addition, she has appeared in both state and federal courts in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining Becker, Ms. Coleman clerked for the Honorable George W. Overton in the Court of Common Pleas of Pennsylvania. During her clerkship, she worked on trusts, estates, and other probate matters in the Orphans’ Court Division. She also worked on Post-Conviction Relief Act appeals in the Criminal Trial Division, as well as tort, property, and contract disputes in the Civil Trial Division.
